The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics is redefining the way musculoskeletal care is delivered across the region with locations throughout Maryland, DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Physical medicine and rehabilitation, commonly called PM&R or physiatry, focuses on improving function for people affected by injury, pain, illness, or disability. Physiatrists treat the whole person and emphasize nonsurgical approaches to musculoskeletal and neurologic problems.
Bay Area Orthopaedics’ PM&R care may bring together medication, therapy, diagnostic testing, assistive equipment, injections, and activity planning. The goal is to help patients move more comfortably, function more independently, and participate in meaningful daily activities.

Our physicians and staff will evaluate your individual needs and recommend an appropriate care plan. Our specialties may vary by provider and location.
PM&R may be helpful when pain or weakness affects multiple parts of daily life or when coordinated rehabilitation is needed. Patients should bring relevant imaging, prior test results, medication lists, and information about their functional goals.
