Ultrasound-Guided Injections
Ultrasound guidance allows a clinician to view muscles, tendons, joints, and other soft tissues during an injection. Real-time visualization can help guide the needle toward the intended treatment area and may be especially useful for certain anatomical locations.
At Bay Area Orthopaedics, ultrasound guidance may be used with corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid, PRP, or other selected procedures. The use of imaging improves targeting but does not make every injection appropriate or guarantee a particular result.
